Illness Is Painful

  • Wow. What a well said and thought out message. And true, we are all put here to glorify God and spread the good news of the gospel. We are living testimonies, however, it is easy to lose sight of that when we or our loved ones are going through tragedies such as illness and death but God… He continues to lift our head, comfort us and stand true to his promises to never leave or forsake us. He is our father alright. It seems that whenever we are blessed with a new life, it eases the pain and reminds us of what this all is for and about. – Meochia

Sick Unto Death

  • Today’s “Sick Unto Death” was so timely for me. My husband had a stroke and is in a nursing home. So much of him is so unlike he was before this. I am grateful to still have him and I am learning to love him the way he is now instead of grieving for the man he used to be. He will be coming home soon and I have been somewhat anxious, but I am grateful for this timely reminder in today’s devotion. Thank you and God bless you. -Sandy

Solicit Prayers

  • This one hit me right between the eyes. I need to be drawn to being more dependent on God and fellow believers. – Scott

Sensitive Spouse

  • Thank you so much for your messages and inspiration, for bringing us closer or in some cases, BACK to GOD OUR FATHER and his son OUR SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST. It has been my wife who has discovered this site and shares the messages that touch my heart and help us heal our relationship. My heart breaks for Pilates wife, it seems however that the situation was fixed, GOD’s Plans were required to be fullfiled, which meant that terrible suffering and ultimate death of our Brother and Savior Jesus. What a terrible burden she must have born, we are lucky to have such wise and powerful women in our lives. GOD BLESS YOU and THANK YOU for sharing your love and the WORD with us. – Dave

Faith Versus Fear

  • Thank you so much for this teachable moment today. I struggle with Fear at times and really don’t like myself when I feel like I’m not trusting. Thank you for the daily spiritual and emotional boost. – Michele
  • This is may be my very favorite Wisdom Hunter thus far. Thank you for sharing. It meets me right where i am today. May God bless you richly. – Lisa

Time for Transition

  • Thank you for this wonderful bit of wisdom… we opened this up this after finding our dear mother had walked into the arms of Jesus this morning… How wonderful the gifts God hands us… one being this devotion to assure us He is with us during trying times… Now as this leader of our family moves on we shall be the ones to lead with faith for the family to move into our ‘Promised Land… – Marilyn

Strength in God

  • Dear Boyd,  Just wanted to pass on that I really appreciate and value the amazing gift of writing that God has entrusted you. You are truly a blessing to me, my family, and the many acquaintances who receive the regular forwards from me. Wishing you continued growth and Godly success in your ministry.  God bless,  Jim

Respect Him

  • The “Love Her” and “Respect Him” devotionals absolutely ROCKED MY WORLD. I never had a good example, growing up, of how a husband should treat a wife and how a wife should treat her husband. There is a lot of anger, mistrust, disrespect, criticizing, power struggles, and plain old toxic behavior between my parents. I am currently going through some pre-marital counseling with my pastors so I am transforming, peeling back some painful layers, setting down an awful lot of baggage, and really just having my eyes and heart opened. These two blogs couldn’t have come at a better time. I am SO. VERY. GRATEFUL. Grateful to see all of the ways that I’ve LONGED to be loved, right there in black and white, in the “Love Her” blog (and finally seeing that it’s POSSIBLE). Grateful for the ways that I can encourage, give respect to, and lift up my future husband… and why it’s SO VERY IMPORTANT that I do so.THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! “Wisdom,” indeed……..   – Kim

Kind words from an Email follower

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011

Just wanted you to know how much I have been fed, nurtured, inspired, convicted, affirmed, encouraged, challenged, etc by the daily readings from seeking Daily the Heart of God.  I have so many dog eared pages from this year that I go back and re-read.  I find myself engaged in more meaningful quiet times of reflection and journaling brcUse of your catalytic writings.  I find myself compelled to read more,  but refuse to read ahead to futire day’s devotionals, but rather am disciplined to go back and re-read previous day’s passages. I wanted to reach out and encourage you that your devotionals are having deep impact in your readers.  My friend Jack and I frequently discuss your writings together and find common ground and inspiration.  Thank you for your wonderful contribution to Christian discipleship!

Keep it up!

Stan

Refuge in Him

  • Thanks for such excellent devotionals. Really enjoy reading them each day. So helpful. – Romona

A Friend’s Rejection

  • This is a timely article for me as our church has split and caused a separation of friends. Our fellowship group that once was fun with deep sharing is now tense and trust seems to be wavering. We are one of two couples that have gone with the new church from a group of 14 couples. Your comment not to reject the rejecter is what I needed to read. I need to remember that we are all the Body of Christ. – Amber
  • I’m thankful for the lessons I’ve learned by knowing such rejection, and the opportunity to pray and when I ask God, “why did this betrayal of a beloved friend have to happen?” God taught me how to trust him more, and receive his comfort, and know that Jesus knew such rejection, but loved none the less. Only when we are so broken, can the love of the Lord shine brightest to a dark world. It is indeed something we endure by the strength of the God who knows it all. He is faithful, and He is Amazing! I appreciate this lesson. Grace received and extended must make the devil really really mad!! Victory in Jesus is all I can say. – Suzanne

Resting Place

  • Thank you for this beautiful post and it comes just in time for me. I am going through a great family tragedy and this speaks to my heart and soul. I need to remember that he is my hightower and my place of refuge. God is always right on time with his words to comfort and share his wisdom. – Betsy

Radical Prayer

  • God Bless you! This is a wonderful lesson today! I have noticed that when I pray for one who has not been my favorite person, they become a favorite person through the love of God in us. I cannot pray for long for someone without really loving them and thanking God for bringing them into my life.Bless you! - Vicci

Temporary Setbacks

  • I have been so inspired by this website and look forward to reading these words every morning. After reading the responses from the other followers I do not feel alone. I feel revived. God has come back to me at a time that I really needed him more than ever. I can’t explain it but the timing of these words that I read every day and the message that I receive well I am amazed and feel blessed. Thank you for making this time more understandable and that God is walking this road with me holding my hand and saying to me, you are going to be fine. God Bless. – Yvonne

Adversity Accelerates Awareness

  • This daily devotion about adversity has saved me by getting a good and right explanation about why all these trials are in my life. So, I’ve learned and was touched that it’s not just punishment, and it’s not just to make us mature, and they’re allowed for deeper and intimate fellowship with Him and therefore more beautiful and meaningful life ahead… Abundant and fruitful, and fragrant in His image and holiness within me. – Heyoun

God Journal

  • As always, this comes to me in God’s perfect timing. I learned years ago, to write down my feelings as a way of ‘venting’ without cause and effect to others. This message puts that practice in an additionally Godly context that I need especially now.  I enjoy this messages daily and thank you for them. You will most likely never know how many people read, enjoy, learn and receive help from this ministry.  In Christian Love and Appreciation, – Pat

Face Time

  • Wow, love this write up and you ALWAYS hit the nail on the head!! Face time with Jesus has transformed me from who I was to who I am. Certainly haven’t arrived YET, but am forcefully pursuing my father to get to know him better! Thank you for that really encouraging word today and everyday!! James says, that if we draw nigh unto him then he will draw nigh unto us!! It is inevitable, it has to happen like a ratio and proportion equation. If this is, then that has to be!!! Wow, the God of the universe drawing nigh unto me … wow! Thanks again. – Kim

Open Minded

  • For the past month I have been praying to God for revelation. I had basically stopped reading my bible and praying. Now, I get up every morning to pray, thanking God and reading my bible. I was ungrateful…I have had some ups and downs in my life, but the Lord has kept me. I look forward to reading your devotionals because I felt like I had not been hearing from God. Every time I open your devotional it’s like God is answering my questions and my prayers. Thank you so much Wisdom Hunters, I am so happy that I found you…the Lord is using your devotional to renew a right spirit within me and helping me to see that he has not left me and he hears my prayers, my cry’s and my concerns. – Verna

Edification’s Edict

  • Your daily devotions are such a blessing to me, I often pass them on to others on my FB page. Today’s devotion was an enormous inspiration to me. As a high school teacher in a public school environment of negativity I underestimate the power I have through Jesus to encourage the students I encounter on a daily basis. Often times I get discouraged myself as it seems like a battle that cannot be won. Today’s words were just what I needed to hear! Thank you so much for your continuous service to our Lord and Savior! – Beth
