Thoughts from daily Bible reading for today- October 27, 2011
“Blessed are they whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD. Psalm 119:1
“This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God” (Genesis 6:9).
Furthermore, the Lord promises to bless behavior that walks according to His law. Your obedience qualifies you for benefits that cannot be bought with money, or manufactured by man’s manipulation. Peace of mind is produced when your conscience is clear, and your commitments are complete. Joy runs deep in your soul when you see Christ at the core of your child’s being, and in those whom you love most.
You are humbled and blessed when you are given public trust to privately administer the truth, love, and wisdom of God. Your moral authority is a stewardship worthy of quiet and prayerful attention. Indeed, these liberal blessings of the Lord invite humility, gratitude and generosity. Invest His blessings in others, and experience the proliferation of pure and passionate living. Above all, blameless behavior begins and ends with walking according to the law of the Lord.
“I have been blameless before him and have kept myself from sin” (2 Samuel 22:24).
By God’s grace what standard of behavior do I aspire to? Which blind spot of mine needs focused accountability?

“Blameless” is God’s will according to 1 Thessalonians 5:23
“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” I have been recently been brought to santification in the area of past childhood trauma. I have been a christian for 37 years and had “buried” my childhood under the cross. The Lord revealed to me through many confirmations that it was his will to heal my soul ENTIRELY which included my “wounded child”. I balked at this for quite some time denying the pertinance to my being a new creation in Christ and “forgetting what lies behind”. But the “God of Peace” is persistant in sanctifying us and He wants to redeem us ENTIRELY so that we will be BLAMELESS
at his coming. My behavior stemming from past trauma needed to be brought into submission to His peaceful healing Lordship so that I could be free indeed. May the “God of peace” continue to sanctify us so that we can stand before Him blameless for His Glory!
