Kingdom Connector

Written by Boyd Bailey

Kingdom connectors are not showy but humble by focusing on Jesus.”

Thoughts from daily Bible reading for today – March 10, 2025

Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my co-workers in Christ Jesus. They risked their lives for me. Not only I but all the churches of the Gentiles are grateful to them. Romans 16:3-4

Erven was a Kingdom connector. I write in the past tense as we just gathered for his Celebration of Life. Eulogy after eulogy emotionally told the story of their friend in the faith, connecting them to resources, relationships, and ultimately to their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It was evident how the Holy Spirit guided our brother’s steps by giving him bold, keen discernment. I recalled anticipating the arrival of Erven to my office. Why? Because he wisely and humbly began his day connecting with his King Jesus and with his wife Jackie, his capacity to love was overflowing. I was for what Erven was for, as he was genuinely led by the Lord. Passionately, he connected my friends and me to clean water projects overseas and connected men of all creeds and cultures to Souly Business, a weekend men’s conference. An effective Kingdom Connector connects with King Jesus and then connects those serving in His kingdom.

The Apostle Paul modeled Kingdom connecting by writing letters to churches anticipating the arrival of his gospel partners. Pricilla and Aquila were among his cherished Kingdom couples who were anticipating attending the church in Rome. Paul prepared their arrival, describing them as co-workers who risked their lives, as the Gentile churches already endorsed this gifted couple! He recognized Pricilla and Aquila’s sacrifice for the gospel’s sake, affirming them and giving creditability to their new community of believers. Expressing gratitude strengthens relationships and encourages continued faithfulness. By greeting specific individuals and groups, Paul wisely reinforces the idea that the church is a unified body working together for a common mission. Kingdom connecting emphasizes the importance of relationships and teamwork in ministry.

You may say I am more of an introvert; I’ll leave this connecting stuff to the extroverts, who thrive on these types of relationships. Not so fast. Sometimes it is the quiet, entirely unsolicited endorsement of a text, phone call, or email that brings credibility to a connection. You can be a Kingdom connector by leveraging your strengths, such as empathic listening, thoughtful conversations, and meaningful one-on-one relationships. You can connect people through writing, mentoring, and quiet acts of service. By creating safe spaces for others to share, you develop deeper connections that reflect Christ’s love and build authentic communities in a discreet yet powerful way. Kingdom connectors are not showy but humble by focusing on Jesus.

If you are more of an extrovert, then to whom much is given, much is required. And be honest about your intentions. Are you freely giving your relationships and resources without expecting anything in return? Or do you subtly expect quid pro quo (something in return)? Freely give, and you will be free from selfish ambition and will flow in the grace of godly ambition. You can be a Kingdom connector by using your outgoing nature to build relationships, create welcoming environments, and share God’s love openly. Your energy and enthusiasm help bring people together, build community, and encourage others in faith. By leveraging your social strengths, you can connect diverse groups, inspire action, and spread the gospel with boldness and joy.

Most of all, stay connected to Jesus Christ and with those who love you the most. Your capacity to lovingly connect others is determined by your capacity to be loved by God and others. As you embrace this love, your heart expands with grace, compassion, and empathy. This transformation enables you to connect deeply with others, reflect Christ’s love, and become an effective Kingdom connector—bridging gaps, building relationships, and pointing people to God’s unfailing love. Connect with your King as you connect His beloved throughout His Kingdom.

Prayer

Lord, help me be a Kingdom connector. Fill me with Your love, guide my steps, and use me to bring people together, sharing Your truth and grace with all. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
