“The resurrection is the cornerstone of Christian faith, the triumphant proof that Jesus conquered death and the grave. Through His victory, He offers eternal life to all who believe in Him.”
Thoughts from daily Bible reading for today – April 20, 2025
He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Matthew 28:6
Today, on this Easter Sunday, we celebrate the most profound and life-altering event in human history—the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Three days ago, the world was plunged into darkness as the Savior of the world was crucified; his body lay in a cold, lifeless tomb. The hope of many seemed shattered. Those who followed Him were filled with grief, fear, and uncertainty. But that dark Friday was not the end of the story.
Now, three days later, the tomb is empty! The good news is Jesus Christ, the King of Kings, has risen from the dead, just as He promised! The resurrection is the cornerstone of Christian faith, the triumphant proof that Jesus conquered death and the grave. Through His victory, He offers eternal life to all who believe in Him.
The empty tomb is more than just a miraculous event in history. It is the very foundation of our hope and faith. Jesus, who took on the world’s sins and endured God’s wrath on our behalf, has now risen in glory and power. He has defeated sin, death, and Satan, forever ensuring that those who trust in Him will have life everlasting. Because of His resurrection, we are no longer bound by the chains of death; instead, we are promised eternal life with Him.
Easter reminds us that even in our darkest moments, when all seems lost, God is working out His perfect plan of redemption. The cross was not a defeat but a pathway to victory. And now, Jesus reigns as the Risen King of Kings through the resurrection. He is the living Savior, seated at the right hand of God, interceding for us. We have been made new because of His great love, and through faith in Him, we will live forevermore.
This glorious truth fills our hearts with joy and hope. As we celebrate Easter, let us rejoice that Jesus is alive! He is the victorious King who reigns over all creation, and we have eternal life through Him. The darkness of the past three days has been overcome by the light of the Risen Lord, and because of Him, we are alive, now and forever. Hallelujah! Christ is risen indeed!
