Prime of Life… “A writing of Hezekiah king of Judah after his illness and recovery: I said, ‘In the prime of my life must I go through the gates of death and be robbed of the rest of my years?” Isaiah 38:9-10
Your prime of life is the time for God to shine the brightest through you. He has prepared for this purpose. It is during the prime of life that your understanding of God blossoms. Your love for people is robust. You are honest with your limitations and strengths. Your financial foundation is strong. Your family depends on God and loves you. Your experiences have caught up with your knowledge. You have become wise. Your character is Christ-like. And you still have the energy to engage with others and execute Kingdom initiatives. This has been your life preparation.
It is during the prime of your life that you can leverage the most for the Kingdom of God. Your age is between 45 and 65. The age range may vary depending on your health, maturity and circumstances. But you have made it to this point by the grace of God. Life is all about preparation and you have faithfully prepared. The prime of your life is a time to give it every thing you’ve got. This is not the season to slow down for God. Rather it is time to kick it up a notch for Jesus. Crank it up for Christ. Don’t hold back. Spend your influence, time and money for Jesus’ sake.
This is your prime time. Do not squander this window of opportunity. Be faithful and watch him do miraculous works through you. Your prime of life is like participating in the Olympic Games. He doesn’t prepare you for life’s Olympics and then expect you to coast. God’s desire is for you to enjoy the ribbon wrapped ‘gold medal’ of prayer for your intense intercession on the behalf of others at God’s throne of grace. God’s passion is for you to receive the ‘silver medal’ of evangelism for your faithful sharing of the gospel. He wants to give you the ‘bronze medal’ of discipleship for your effective teaching of the Word of God.
Indeed, there are other events for you to participate in during your prime of life. There is giving, mentoring, encouraging, rebuking, correcting, admonishing, leading, administering, mothering, fathering, grand parenting, and serving to name a few more. Don’t become idle for fear of failure. Failure is to do nothing. The Holy Spirit can better direct a moving object. Serve in the nursery at church, as an Elder, parking attendant, or greeter. Join a ministry Board of Directors. Start a ministry. Serve overseas. Prepare for your prime of life and engage in your prime of life. Am I positioning my prime of life for the Lord’s purposes?
