Character Is Prepared… “When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet.” Proverbs 31:21
However, character has the foresight to see what it will take to be successful and prepares to that end. Assumptions are challenged and facts are flushed out front and center. A prepared person understands the reality of economic cycles and does not spend everything on today or presume by mortgaging the future. Preparation plans ahead.
Just as Jesus instructed the disciples to prepare for the Passover, He is looking for us to provide, thorough preparation, for His projects. “So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover” (Matthew 26:19). Because we represent Christ we want to be painstakingly prepared. Are you ready for your exam? Have you practiced your upcoming speech? Have you double-checked your project checklist? Is your heart right?
Yes the Lord expects us to prepare, but fortunately He has also prepared the way on your behalf. “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows” (Psalm 23:5). When God’s preparation intersects with your preparation the results bless others way beyond your comprehension.
So are you overlooking any person or opportunity that may need more attention than you realized? Is your heart and mind prepared? Remember your battle is not against flesh and blood, so your best preparation is on your knees in humble adoration and petition before your Heavenly Father. Preparation places you in a position to be blessed by God.
“Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed” (1 Peter 1:13). Is the quality of my preparation pleasing to the Lord? How can I better prepare for my family’s finances?
